This new version includes security updates and more tools to regulate signups. This means that Autiblogger registration is open again!

I would like to extend a huge thank you to Andrea Rennick for doing the update! It went quite smoothly with a minimum of downtime. She also added some spammer protection above and beyond what the software itself provides. Andrea runs the WPMU Tutorials site.

The spam blog problem is much improved, but a few were still getting through. Let’s hope this update blocks even more of them!

During the last update, some strange characters were appearing in some people’s posts instead of certain punctuation marks. If they appear in your blog, please let me know, and I will fix it.

This happens when people use automated robots to sign up for  and create blogs for the purpose of filling them with spam links. Two new themes were added in the file update.

To choose a theme for your blog, login and go to your administration section. Click on ‘Presentation’ in the top menu and then click on the picture of the theme you would like to use on your site. Changes will be applied instantly. These themes are also in beta testing. All feedback and bug reports are greatly appreciated!

Speaking of feedback… A ‘Contact Autiblogger’ link has been added to the administration section. You can find it on the top right side of the blue menu, just below the ‘Sign Out’ link. Please use this form to send feedback and support requests.

Links and excerpts from the Autiblogger news and the latest posts from Autiblogger members now appear on the ‘Dashboard’ page of your admin section. The Dashboard is the first page you see when you log in. Private posts will not be included in this list. If you have unchecked the box in the ‘Options’ section of your admin panel about you blog appearing in search engines and in public listings around Autiblogger.com, your posts will not be shown.
